Here are some quick tips to help you get the best corporate and business headshots.
1) What should I wear?
Why is clothing important? You want to choose clothing that helps accent your photo and not distract from your face.

- Suggestions: colored blouse, blazer, jacket and dress shirt
- Men: Dark suit or a well-fitted shirt.
- Women: Nice blouse, shirt, or solid suit & light blouse underneath.
- Make sure that the clothes fit well! Especially jackets and shirts.
- Iron your clothes - Any wrinkles will show up if your clothes are not ironed or pressed well.
- Choose something that makes you feel great and confident, but still clean and professional.
- Colors: Darker colors tend to be more flattering & slimming. That doesn’t mean you have to wear black, but try out some colors like dark gray or navy.
- Jewel tones also work really well and can help accentuate your eyes.
- Solid vs. Pattern? Solid colors tend to look best. Avoid busy patterns like checkers, dots and loud prints, as they can be distracting in the photo.
- Turtlenecks can be busy looking around the face, so it’s usually best to avoid these.
- Avoid light colors such as creams, beige, peach, pastels, white, & yellow (unless you're wearing them under a darker layer).
- Again, Keep it Simple, since the focus will be on your face! :)
2) Hair and Makeup
- If you are doing your own makeup, keep it natural and clean. Avoid shimmery or overly-bright colors for makeup.
- Bring your makeup & lotion with you in case your skin does get dry or you need touchups. Bring lip balm to help keep lips looking soft.
- If you are doing your own hair, remember to bring some hair product (if you use it). Usually it’s not recommended to try out new products or haircuts a few days before your shoot in case. Bring a brush and some hair product (gel/hairspray) with you to the shoot to help calm fly-aways.
- If you decide to wear jewelry, use jewelry to accent, not overshadow.
